~Orthodox Humor, Nativity Fast 2007~
If you are an Orthodox Christian, when do you know it is almost Christmas? When your 8 year old son asks you wearily, ”Mom, when are we going to have steak and chicken again?” Said while looking down at his veggie burger and most likely thought at dinner the night before when he rejected his salmon and the night before when he refused his baked vegetables and spinach pie.

Haha! I have to confess, I’m counting down too.
Merry Christmas
Sometimes I think the countdown to meatloaf is as exciting as the hopefulness for presents. Poor little buddy, Christmas can’t be here soon enough.
That is so precious. But I must admit, the baked vegetables and spinach pie sound wonderful!
Tee hee.
I’m with Linda, I’d love some baked vegetables and spinach pie.
I concur! Mara’s not eating anything these days, either.
My kids are the opposite – in an almost annoying way! I think they are getting too used to fasting, if that is possible. This morning I asked both of them what they wanted to eat on Christmas. My 6-year-old requested salmon and my 2-year-old suggested orange juice and oatmeal. I told them “No way!” No more of that stuff at all for 10 days after Christmas! It’s just like two Paschas ago when my then-4-year-old requested broccoli and carrots in his Pascha basket. Give me a break!! I have a fasting blog, which I’ve done a terrible job with this fast period, but I’m updating it today. http://whenwefast.blogspot.com/ You or some of your readers might enjoy it.
