~Please read Jenny’s Blog to see how Christians are persecuted in Turkey~
Here is just a bit from her blog about the pilgrimage they are on in Turkey.
“It was incredible to see the fervor of these locals who attended the Liturgy this morning. They are openly facing active persecution and they continue to attend the services in the face of these hostilities.”
“As we began to walk, they started throwing massive firecrackers at us. (I don’t mean small poppers! LARGE firecrackers that left our ears ringing.) Thankfully no one in our group was hit or hurt. Even then, as we walked back to our bus, there were people watching us scornfully. One women even spit on the ground in front of us as we walked by. It was a reminder that the people at this parish are living martyrs for their faith. They are witnesses to their faith in the face of open hostility. They refuse to be run off and abandon their church.”
