~Attention! Help Needed, Quickly!~
Washer is on the fritz….do we repair at yet undetermined price, but it will most likely be a couple hundred dollars, or do we buy a front loader? I remember a lot of discussion on front load washers from MOMYS and the WS. I do at least 4-5 loads a day and need a sturdy large capacity machine. Advice, experience, recommendations please share! Is it he Whirlpool Duet that everyone is always raving about? TIA
ETA. Maria~Angelica are going to go look at washers this morning. Keep the advice coming, thanks!
Updated: Well, we did our shopping and I am happy to report that we got a great price for a Duet washer and it will be delivered in the morning.

A woman I know online has 5 kids. They just got a front loader and she went from 13-14 loads a week to 4-5!!! That’s totally worth it IMO.
Hers is a Kenmore Extra Large Capacity PLUS , so actually I don’t know if it’s a front loader or not. Just the load ratio LOL.
We don’t exactly have a large family, but my husband goes through a ton of clothes, between work, casual, and working around the barnyard too. Anyway, we got a front loader Frigidaire and I absolutely *love* the thing. It uses way less water than a top loader, and it has an enormously fast spin cycle (fast as in the the spinning, now how long) for regular clothes which cuts the drying time in half!
Too funny (or maybe not) our washer is crashing right now too. I want a front loader because my kids ALWAYS want to help and it’s hard enough for me to dig down to get the clothes in or out. I guess I’m short! :p Hope you have a successful day on finding exactly what fits your family needs!
I definitely will buy a front-loader when it is time to buy a new washer. However, I wanted to mention repairclinic.com they have saved us more than once (dishwasher woes, mostly)
I don’t do the laundry, but I will say I think it’s a good idea to get the machines that can save in the long run on electricity and water bills. It’s what I would do, if I actually did laundry and therefore had a say in the matter.
