  • ~Someone has been stepping on some cracks~

My back is killing me. Here is what I have managed to do about it today. I have an appointment for the chiropractor tonight , I have an appointment in the morning with an orthopedist, I have located a pilates studio not too far from home; I start on the reformer on Monday and now I am going to go find my pain pills and muscle relaxers…

  • I am SO sorry!  I hope you find some relief soon.  I really feel for you … I’ve been having one muscle/tendon pulled after another – I don’t know if it something missing in my diet, or something I’m giving to the baby, but I’m getting to feel old and decrepet (too lazy to look up spelling … ).  Right now I’ve got a rotator cup and my back acting up.  Prayers!

  • I’m so sorry! Sounds like you have a good plan, though.

  • Good plan. Hope you get some relief!

  • You poor thing! I hope you feel better quickly.

  • I’m so sorry you are feeling “poorly”. Prayers for you!

  • Aw Lisa!! I hate that for you… FYI, the chiro and the ortho will probably tell you differing things. I worked for a chiropractor for several years and am still a patient of one. I highly recommend chiropractic, if you can afford it and stick with it. I hope you get to feeling and moving better!!

  • Hope you are feeling better soon, Lisa. Back pain is no fun at all especially with little ones. :(

  • Thanks everyone. I went to the chiro and had a good treatment, I just spent a few hours on the heating pad and I feel a lot better.  I will go to the ortho too, I had an MRI done a few years ago and disk 4 and 5 were ruptured. I’d like to see what things look like now. I am excited about starting on the Pilates reformer on Monday. I go back to the chiro on Tuesday, insurance covers the chiro, I have a $25 co-pay each time I go though. I does help and I am grateful to have one nearby that takes my insurance. Thanks again for your concern, prayers and well wishes.

  • I also have a bad back and when it is really hurting it is so hard to do anything.  Hope you are feeling better really soon!

  • OH NO! Back pain is NO LAUGHING MATTER!! :nono: :nono: :nono:
I had a back injury last year, and I WILL NEVER forget what that felt like. I am a strong woman, with illness/injury, it doesn’t take long at all for me to get better….BUT..I must have turned some way that was ackward, and that evening I was just walking to the kitchen counter, and I just fell to the ground. I had shooting back pains one after the other. DH was at the FD that evening, and I somehow grabbed the phone, and called him for him to come home.
Next morning, it took me 20 minutes to get out of bed. This is the part that scared me the most. I was intense therapy at the chiro for a year, and then maintenance schedule. I am better now, but, wow! SO PAINFUL! I said a prayer for you, I hope you get better soon.

  • Thanks Lisa!

Tell me something Jennie and Becky. How often do you think I need to go to the chiro? What makes a good chiro? I lay down on a table he  stretches out my back with moving the end of the table up and down, cracks me a few good and painful times, then does a electrodes type treatment with heat. Sound about right?

  • I am so sorry this has been happening and I will pray again for you. This is who my husband sees, if this might help you compare. There are different types of chiropractic. http://www.drcjacobs.net/mtd.html
