The whole day was very exciting. Not only was Maria~Angelica baptized but also our dear cousin, Bill was christmated an Orthodox Christian and Nicholas lost a tooth in the middle of the baptism service! Just excitment all around!
Bill is the dh of my first cousin Betsy, one of the two Godmothers. Bill has been studying Orthodoxy for several years and it was so beautiful that he became an Orthodox Christian on the same day as his little Goddaughter! They received Holy Communion together. We are so grateful to our cousins, Sandra and Betsy and their husbands Gary and Bill , for being such wonderful , loving Godparents to Maria~Angelica.
If anyone has any questions about what is happening in any of the baptism pictures and why, please let me know and I will add captions to the pictures. Below is the message I wrote to our guests for the Baptism.
Hope you all enjoyed the pictures!
Thank you all so very much for being part of Maria~Angelica’s Christening day. God has blessed us richly with four healthy children and wonderful, loving family and friends. We are so grateful for your loving support, prayers and friendship throughout the years. Thank you to all our friends, aunts, uncles and cousins, who traveled from near and far to be with us today. We are so grateful to all of you and especially to Betsy, Bill , Sandra and Gary for being such wonderful Godparents to our sweet little girl; we look forward to Maria~Angelica having years of joy with her loving Godparents. Thank you to our parents for all their love and support throughout the years. We love you very much! Thank you for all you do for us!
Baptism joins us with Christ. As is chanted in the Orthodox Church during the Baptismal and Chrismation service in the words of St. Paul.
“As many as have been Baptized in Christ, have put on Christ” (Gal. 3:27).
With all our love,
Fr. Christos and Presvytera Lisa

:heartbeat: :heartbeat: :heartbeat: How absolutely beautiful! I love the last pic of the little feet, and the exquisite lace. My husband said it must be really wonderful to baptize one’s own child. He was not a priest yet when ours were baptized.
Thank you Kh. Michelle! Her Godmother’s picked out her lovely dress; that photo may not remain the last one, I am still working on them , there are a lot to go through. Fr. was ordained before anyone of our children were born so he was able to baptise them all. Just think Fr., your Fr. will be able to marry his dds! That will be amazing too! Fr. was able to marry his sister and he thought that was really special and beautiful too! I was thinking of you today with E.’s drama starting; Basil started his theatre camp this week too!
:sunny: Thanks for thinking of us. I would like to hear about Basil’s class, too. And yes, we look forward to the weddings in the future should God will it, and may God grant us health to be able to be there!!
Beautiful! I would have loved to be there. I especially liked seeing all the children gathered so close to the font. How nice to have a priest who gets children! (Not that I’m complaining. I love my priest!)
Just gorgeous!!Thank you so much for sharing these with us, what a womderful day!!:heartbeat::heartbeat:
What beautiful pictures and what a special day!!! Wow what a cake by the way!! :goodjob: What a sweet daughter you have there…thanks for sharing!
wow! beautiful. everything
Everyone looks beautiful!!! And that cake is amazing! Looks like it was just a wonderful, wonderful day. Love the pic of the feet… and M~A eating the bread!! Thanks for sharing your special day with us!
What a beautiful day. :sunny: I love the last one of her sweet little toesies! Matte and frame it. :goodjob:
Yes please add captions as I am totally clueless here. I must say that those are THE sweetest pictures I have ever seen. We practice Believer’s Baptism – in that an infant doesn’t believe and isn’t aware of sin ect…, so what you guys just did is extremely foreign to me and yet it looked so set apart, so holy, so precious…. What’s with all the changing of garments? I truly want to understand this. My brother is Orthodox, but he doesn’t have any children so I have never experienced anything so pure and beautiful as what you just posted. I am not trying to pit infant baptism against what I understand, I simply want to learn that’s all – BEAUTIFUL…..
WOW!!! The photos are SO beautiful!! Im so sad we missed coming…horrid timing for me to come down with the flu.
She is just the cutest, sweetest little girl!!
Beautiful photos! You look so happy and she is just taking it all in! Many years to M-A, Bill and to Nicholas the newly toothless.
Those pictures are the greatest! Thanks for posting them. She sure is a a princess, isn’t she! Her party looks fit for royalty. How beautiful – her own father baptizing her and the looks on her brothers’ faces as they looked on. :heartbeat:
Beautiful photos. What a blessed event. Thank you for letting me see the pictures. God bless you all.
She’s beautiful and that cake is amazing.
why does she have two godmothers?
Because I asked both my cousins (they are sisters) to be her Godmothers. Anyway she is a special baby, 3 names, 3 brothers, 4 Godparents! LOL!Why not? When your dad’s the priest you can have 2 Godmothers. :p
SHE IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! What a fantastic celebration!!! :sunny:
Thank you! :sunny:
How BEAUTIFUL!
MANY YEARS to you Maria~Angelica!
