• ~Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. ~

Today was a really trying day. See those little demons in the icon in my last post? Well they are hard at work. If you could please pray for us, our children who have to endure being in a clergy family and for the people that we serve. Pray that we do God’s will and pray for us to have strength and patience. Pray for all our souls that we may grow in our relationship with God and attach our hearts to Christ this Lent and Easter. > ” src=”http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a17/jenniferhock/crosseo.gif” border=0>

I open my heart to You. Visit and help me, for Your Great Mercy’s sake. Examine and reveal to me my faults and sins. I put all my trust in You. I have no other desire than to fulfill Your will. Teach me how to pray. Pray in me. Amen.

• Praying for you. And thank you for that prayer. I needed it–seeing I am up at 420a.:heartbeat:

  • Also praying. Thank you for your service, too. I’m sorry it comes with such hardship :(

  • where did you get the neat little emoticon crossing himself??? Never seen that one! It shows up in my subscription email, but not on the page when I view it.

many blessings to you as you and your family serve!

  • Praying for your family. What you do sure has its ups and downs.

  • As an encouragement, E says that being in a clergy family is great. “You get to go to all the services. It would be bad if you didn’t get to go to all of them.” C says, “you would not know how fun they are.” I hope that continues for all our kids. I know yours love the faith as well. (((hugs))) and prayers. You know I can relate.

  • Sundays can be a difficult day. Yesterday was hard for me too! When I was a teenager I hoped I would marry a minister. I then married a man whose father and grandfather are both pastors so I thought maybe one day Tim would go into the “family business.” Although I don’t know what the future holds, I am thankful that up until this point he has been content to be a layworker. There is an expectation of the clergy’s family that can border on oppressive! A friend of mine who is married to an evangelist told me very candidly once “I have never wanted to play sick on Sunday until Andy went in the ministry!” But later she said that he began to pray for her before they left for services (because she was honest about her feelings with him) and this is what he would pray: “Father, provide Tammy grace for whatever this day will require of her.” She told me—”That prayer WORKS!” There have been times she has had to pray it for her sons and that has taken more faith because she wants to protect them. It is truly following Christ’s footsteps to live a life of service to others. I pray His blessings on your home!

  • :heartbeat: Praying!!

  • Oppressive is right! (((Hugs, Lisa))) Lord have mercy and grant grace to your family!

  • Amen.

Being a priest’s family I think is one of the most difficult jobs there is.

  • Don’t get me wrong , I wouldn’t change my life for anything. I just don’t know why people have to be so cruel.

Thanks everyone for all your love and prayers. :heartbeat:

  • Oh Lisa, sweetie, I said a prayer for you just now and will be praying for you tonight. I’m sorry you’re going through a tough time right now. I just wanted to say thank you for your sweet comments on my xanga, you are always so encouraging and I appreciate that so much. You’ve been there with the kindest, most comforting words ever since I “met” you on that message board, when my mom became so ill. Thanks.
