  • Hello Everyone,

I talked to Jenny and this is  what we are thinking of buying. Jenny is going to see about setting up a trial version and if we like we could by the classic for $100 a year.  Let us know what you think.  Thank you for all your e-mails forgive me if I haven’t written you  back, it has been a busy day.

Also please pray for our community. Tonight a homeless man was caught breaking into the church.  There are several people in the community that are very against housing the homeless (we do a community homeless shelter with other Churches every couple weeks in the winter months) This will not help the cause. Fr. found his blessing cross from the altar had been bent and thrown on the floor in the Narthex. The man was probably trying to pry open something. He also broke into the bookcases to steal some cross necklaces. Just pray , pray for the man pray for all our people, pray for the evil one to leave us alone.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’  “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?  When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you?  When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’

    ~ Mathew 25:35-40

I saw the snares that the enemy spreads out over the world and I said groaning, “What can get through from such snares?” Then I heard a voice saying to me, “Humility”.

  • OH NO!  I will be praying that nothing else was broken/taken, but that this situation somehow draws this man to Himself.  Definately not comforting when your church already houses the homeless.  I could understand the predicament.  Knowing God allowed this for a greater purpose.  I pray for peace, and discernment through this difficult situation.

Loved your comment on my blog.  I get the biggest kick out of you!!!!!!!!!!

  • Praying!  What a great quote you have there!  I’m starting a collection of quotes from saints now.

  • Your husband might find some support and ideas from Fr. Dan at St. Gregory’s here. He has dealt with similar issues as they have a ministry to the homeless. Fr. Dan is very approachable and has helped my husband much when we were new here.

  • I guess this is the plan you were talking about in the email. I had just not read your blog yet.

  • You have my prayers.

  • Hello,
I enjoyed looking over your blog, which I got to by the BIG FAMILIES webring. My father-in-law is a Protestant pastor and he has had many situations with homeless in his church, stealing, breaking things, etc. His philosophy is, “Let them.” He caught a man once rummaging through things early one morning and he took him to McDonald’s for breakfast! There has never been any type of “altercation” between my father-in-law and these men—they see wants to help them. My inlaws are restoring an old house and one day when they went there to work on it there was a homeless man just sitting on the porch, “taking a load off” as he said. They chatted for awhile and the man said, “I hope to see you again some time.” You can bet he will. My father-in-law is a homeless-person-magnet! We think it is very Christ-like! :o ) “God works all things together for good, for them that love God and are called according to His purpose.” Praise the Lord.
    Sincerely, Kristyn
