Q. If you are from Cincinnati and tomorrow is the last day to eat meat (Meat Fare Sunday) where do you take the family for dinner?

OH that just looks soooo sinfully good!!!
*mmmmmmmm*
I think Christine and I might do Chinese food tomorrow…
That is some serious cheese!
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Oh man…Why don’t we have that here???
Apparantly, nobody but the converts in our parish follow the meatfare and cheesefare. Lent starts at Lent around here. Is that weird?
Tamara, Great Lent really doesn’t start until March 6th with Clean Monday. Some people just don’t understand or they haven’t been taught fully about the Triodion period; it’s not all that weird, it just that the teachings and practices , in this country have gotten lost with each generation. It isn’t easy to pass on Orthodox fasting customs and practices in a Western Country where the children of immigrants were trying to assimilate.
How hilarious! I think I’d eat there on that day too! :coolman:
I just stumbled across this

and it made me think of you. Beautiful, eh?
ooh I am so mad at myself! I accidently deleted Toddberts skyline comment! I hope Todd will re-post it.
Phyllis thank you so much for the link to Deb’s blog. That was so sweet of you to think of me. The photos of her dd chrismation are beautiful! I feel like I know Deb from somewhere but I don’t think I do but I do “know” some of her blog subscribers. Neat! Small world and I love it!
Gee, all I said was: “Man, I had Skyline when I was in college, on a road trip. I still remember it. It’s hat good.”

Ooh, that cheese looks good!! :spinning:
We have Skyline here, but we had a potluck with St. Gregory’s after Vespers. We had mini meatballs, meat stuffed philo something or other, and I brought Whole Foods’ chicken apple maple sausages cut up and served with toothpicks. Lotsa meat! :sunny: Tamara, re your comment. I had someone come up to me at church and talk about how they did not do the meat/cheesefare thing and they are recent immigrants and recent to our particular church. I think they never learned about it for some reason.
