Ugh! Whatever I have it is not going away. February is almost over and I have only been well for about 3 days of it!
I just finished homework with the boys a little while ago, tucked them in and got the baby settled. Now I want to post some pics I have been meaning to post for awhile now for my relatives that read my blog and especially for Maria~Angelica’s godmothers.
Maria~Angelica does the funniest thing! She tries to say the word “hi” whenever we say “hi”. It is a hoot, her little mouth goes all funny in a big circle , the boys just crack up! I have been wanting to take some video but have misplaced my battery charger.
The boys are doing so well in school; their midterm reports were excellent. Nicholas, who is in Kindergarten has learn the first 42 phonograms and can write them as well as say them. He has also learned how to add and subtract and does a mixed work sheet of about 50 problems with 100% accuracy. Amazing! I remember learning how to tie my shoes and stand in line for the bathroom when I was in kindergarten.
Basil has learned to write cursive and his handwriting is so BEAUTIFUL. Penmanship is one of their subjects. He is also very well versed on the tribes and kings of Israel. My dad and Basil have a lot to talk about now! LOL Basil loves Bible, math and grammar. He is really good at analyzing and diagramming sentences, something I remember being taught in the 6th grade. Nicholas and Basil have a Leapster game for grammar and it is so funny to hear Basil (8) in the back seat prompting Nicholas (6) on the parts of speech. Basil has also really helped Nicholas learn his phonograms and math. Nicholas really looks up to Basil, it’s sweet.
Jonah and I enjoyed planning the treats for his pre-school Valentine Party. The baby made an appearance at both Jonah and Basil’s parties on Valentine’s day. They both enjoyed showing their friends their baby sister; they were so proud.
Today Jonah helped me give Maria~Angelica her bath; the baby really enjoys her bath. She is also very much enjoying her baby cereal , she just laps it up!
All three boys are doing really well with their swimming and are so proud of the ribbons they have been earning. Basil informed me he doesn’t want to do anything else for the moment , he just wants to concentrate on swimming for now. He was so mature when he explained this to me. He said remember when I was doing three things (piano, guitar and swimming) ? Well I just want to learn one at a time and do it really well. Awwww! He’s right you know , I had him spread too thin. Very observant little guy there.
Nicholas , Jonah and Basil all passed the red level and Basil the orange level as well.
The next week Basil advanced to the yellow level class.
Basil took this picture. Can you see Maria~Angelica’s ballet slippers?
Nicholas and his best friend Dean. Next to Dean is my precious goddaughter Angelika.
Basil and his Nouno (godfather, my brother) practicing cursive. I am pretty sure Basil’s cursive is better than Uncle Michael’s. I think Basil is giving him some tips here.
Jonah at the piano he doesn’t know what he is doing (yet) but he is a pretty good little actor.
Watching the world go by from the Moses basket while mommy does laundry.
Saying “HI!”
Smiling from the cradle in Mommy and Baba’s room.
“Oh me, oh my!”
“I better chew my hand and think this over.”
Bathing beauty.
Pretty , pretty princess enjoys her baths.

what school do your boys go to? Is it private? They sound very advanced! And penmanship is a lost art nowadays.
Hi Marsha, yes it is a private Classical and Christian school. It is so true about penmanship! I wish my handwriting was as nice as my second graders. I am going to start practicing using his techniques.
What smart kids you have! It’s such a blessing to have kids that love to learn. I have that in my Jacob. I hope I will see it in Owen too.
Love the pictures!! How awesome that the boys are so proud of their little sister!
I hope you feel better really soon!
Oh Lisa Lisa Lisa what a joy to see a little bit into your life:love:. What smart children you have. I also remember being in kindergarten and learning to tie my shoes, that was quite the accomplishment. I remember having circle time, and unfortunately the naught bench. Of course it wasen’t my fault, I remember distinctly it was Terry Baileys fault.:wha: It is amazing what kids are actually learning these days. It’s fantastic!!! I enjoyed your pictures so much.:heartbeat: The room that your piano is in is the same color as my kitchen, see twins!!! Same taste!!:goodjob: I also loved the one where Maria~Angelica was crying, and I think it was Jonah holding her just beaming with joy!! :sunny:
You must have a very close knit family. Do you all live close? I only ask because I saw your brother at the Valentine party. I know we agree what a blessing that is, for you, and your entire family. What an awesome praise for that!!
Thanks for sharing!!!:littlekiss:
Thanks Lisa and Becky. I don’t know how smart they are but they sure are learning and working hard! The school is great and every night we review for the next day. The teacher said Nicholas is just soaking it all up, that kid has a memory like you would not believe. Basil is holding the baby in his classroom and I think she was a little overwhelmed by the second grade! The children were so excited to see her, it was sweet. Notice her red trousers, my friend gave me a Valentine outfit of her dd’s and I just happened to have the same color trousers, you can’t tell because she is in the sling when I am holding her it was fun to be matching but I don’t see myself doing much of that.
Lisa you crack me up about the colors! You’re right though! TWINS!!!
Yes we live close to my family and it is wonderful although sadly my dh’s family are in Greece and we don’t get there as often anymore. The children are very blessed as are my parents and brother to have the joy of grandchildren and nephews and a neice. We have a standing dinner date after swimming every week and my family comes up to Church and spends Sundays with us. It was your post about eating at your mom’s that reminded me of myself. I LOVE my mom’s food! We used to live in England and moved back here when Basil was 1 and a half and I was pregnant with Nicholas. We were blessed that our Bishop assigned us to a parish close to my hometown. :sunny:
Lisa that was soooo fun to see into your family’s world!!! I loved the pic of Maria~Angelica in the basket looking out the window. Too cute!!! Isn’t it such a delight to see all her big brothers doting over her?! It’s sooo sweet to see them taking care of their little sis!
I hope you are feeling better soon. The real influenza just hit our University campus so you can imagine how I am feeling right about now with that in mind! I made Eric wash up really well when he came home tonight after working on campus! :p
Give a big “WAY TO GO!!!” to your smart little gentlemen for their hard work in school! :goodjob: Their school looks sooo fun. We don’t have a private school like yours any where near us. You are blessed to be able to give your dc such a great education! Seems like just yesterday you were showing us pics of their first day of school! Time flies….
So sorry you’re still not feeling well. {{{hugs}}}
The pictures are wonderful.
Thanks Linda , thanks Sarah. Sarah I am begining to think that is what I have. My lungs are full and my cough is awful.
I do hope you mend soon! We will step up the prayers for that. My girls loved looking at all your pictures (as did I). My oldest said, “Mom, they have the same carpet and colored walls we have, and their piano looks like ours, too!” and, “Oh, that baby is so-o cute!”
We have one of those old, ornate upright pianos with a grand soundboard (called a cabinet grand??). I am not musical at all, but the rest of the family is.
Lisa, you are just the BEST mom. I can’t believe that you take the time to participate in the school parties while you have a baby! And not feeling well! You know, I haven’t helped in any of my dd’s school parties. I better volunteer next time one comes up. And you review homework the night before for all your boys? I feel so lazy.
LOVE the one of M~A on the dryer. Another contest entry!
Tracy I am not so great, don’t worry. That was the first one all year I have been able to go ; I was just fortunate to be feeling well that day (one of the three in February). I mostly likely picked something up again from all that running around between stores and schools for Valentine’s day. On the evenings when Fr. is home he does such a good job reveiwing with the boys, much better then me. Their homework is so clear cut , no huge projects which is nice. Basil learns 5 spelling words a night and has to review his math facts and all that he has learned that day, poems, scripture etc….. Nicholas has a math sheet and has to know the phonograms to get the certificate they are working on. Next week Jonah goes for Kindergarten testing! We will have three of them doing school work in the evenings next year. The nice thing is the learn from the one ahead of them. Maria~Angelica is going to have it EASY! Basil on the other hand has had to pave the way.:spinning:
The laundry room/dryer thing we have been doing since Basil was a baby. It is nice to have two Moses baskets one upstairs and one down. That way they are always close to you when they are sleeping. I don’t put her to sleep on the dryer now that she can roll though, she is much happier and safer in her bed. It is a good place to hang out though while I put a load in the washer.
Kh. Michelle I am not musical at all, with the exception of being in HS musicals , but I can’t play a thing, wish I could and praying some of the children will show an interest and a talent. I got that piano on freecycle, we had it tuned and the keys replaced. I am not sure how good it is but I sure do like the look of it. Your girls are cute!
Bwahahahhaha, I love the cursive writing comment! And, of course Maria Angelica looking out the window in the Moses basket – how adorable is that?
As sweet and inspiring as ever!
 Wonderful pictures!!
Those are such sweet photos!!!
I wanted to add that my daughter loves looking at the pictures of your children. She always asks me what their names are for each picture! If we ever get to meet you, my girl will think she knows your children! lol!
