  • Now that it has been brought to my attention  through the media about  ”Holiday Trees” and stores refusing to say ”Merry Christmas” , I can’t believe how many “Christmas” cards we are  receiving that don’t have the word Christmas on them.  (and they are not from the White House either. LOL )

  • The cards I sent out didn’t have “Christmas” on them either. But they’re greeting cards from a charitable organization, so I didn’t really expect them too

  • I am not critizing just observing. I am sure I have sent out cards in the past that say “Peace on Earth” or “Holiday Greetings/Season Greetings” etc. Not that those are bad things it is just interesting how we as a society gradually let Christ and Christmas creep out of this “Holiday”. I am just noticing it I suppose. I have to admit that every year I do a family Christmas card photo (ususally in the Church) and this year I did one that says “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year” along with a birth announcement for the baby (because this is the one chance a year that we have to communicate with about 100 friends oversees).  I usually put in the message “Christ is Born! Glorify Him! well with the birth announcement I wasn’t able to put that on,  the system didn’t allow more then 255 characters. I didn’t like not being able to put that on my cards this year. They do still wish everyone a “Merry Christmas” though.

  • It is weird how many christmas cards we get that have generic sayings on them…i am particularly surprised by all the ones I get from  friends/family that I know are Christians.  We always make sure to get cards with some kind of  a religious message or verses on them….

  • MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

  • Thank you Linda. MERRY CHRISTMAS to you too!

  • Hi, it Chrysa here, I’m in London, we have to same problem here too.

Everyone seems to be treating Christmas as a personal holiday no matter what their religion is. Its an excuse for time off work and for them, and a “get together” with their families.

They haven’t forgetton its a CHRISTIAN celebration, they just choose to ignore it. They still give out cards and presents to each other, it’s all about the MONEY!

I even know of a Turkish family that have a Christmas Tree in their home!

  • WhoooHooooo Chrysa is here!!!!!!  What a nice surprise! Liked what you had to say! Welcome to Xanga I am so glad you are here! And I can’t wait until you  are HERE with us to celebrate Christmas!!!:love::love::love::love::love::love: There that’s one for each of you!:heartbeat:

  • I made sure that (a) mine said “Christmas” on them and (b) they had a religious theme. My little way of striking back.

  • I am having a hard time finding ones with Merry Christmas!!! Thus why I have not sent mine out yet! :( I have a family photo but can’t find a design that fits it right with the words, Merry Christmas rather than Season’s Greetings or Happy Holidays. :wha: I am beginning to think I should just make my own via computer :spinning:
