This just arrived in my in box and is such a good lesson for me.
“Speak concisely, say much in a few word.” (sir 32:8)
“Let thy speech be short, comprehending much in few words; be as one that knoweth and yet holdeth his tongue.” (Sir 32:8)

Father Paisios, where does the soul go when it leaves the body?
Well, when the watch stops working, it goes to the hands of the watch-maker. In the same way, our soul goes to the hands of God.
The one who realizes his mistake, has already progressed half way. However, it is also very important for him to sense his weakness. It is much better to be aware of our own weakness, than to struggle very hard, while neglecting it.
Unless we clean ourselves from our passions, we should not yearn to love God, as quite often pride is hidden behind our desire. Instead, we should wish not to upset Him, out of gratefulness.

Privyet! I don’t usually have time to read your blog, but I do enjoy it when I can. Just wanted to say hi. . . .
Lisa
As far as I can tell that website is no longer taking orders and I can’t find another source for the Mother Gavrilia book. Any other ideas?
Thanks!
I saw that Tracy I am so sorry. I will check around. Maybe it is out of print. I have lent my copy to a few people. I am not sure where it is at the moment. As soon as I get it I can lend it to you too if you like.
Hi Phyllis I enjoy your blog too! I love reading about your life in Russia. Russia is very dear to us. You are always in our thoughts and prayers. Here is a link to Phyllis’ blog http://fylliska.blogspot.com/ . Phyllis and her dh are Baptist missionaries in Russia.
Please check at St. Gregory Palamas Monastery in Mansfield OH. They usually have a few copies around. http://sgpm.goarch.org/Monastery/index.php?cat=13

I’m comfortable with that.
Thanks for the link for the book. You have to leave a comment and they get back to you so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to get it but I hope so!
Those monks are so nice! It is a great place to visit, too. I am sure someone will get back to you. I know Fr. Michael (who is a godson of Mother Gavrilia btw) is in Greece right now, but the other monks are there.
Yes you are right Kh. Michelle I do remember seeing several copies there! Thank you so much for the suggestion. I love Fr. Michael and knew he was in Greece right now. I didn’t know he was the godson of Mother Gavrilia though! What a blessing! Now it makes perfect sense why they had so many copies. They also had tapes of her talks I believe they were in Greek though. Let us know Tracy if you get a book through the monastery or not. Thanks again Khouria for the suggestion!! :goodjob: Tracy if you do order the book order some of their beeswax candles too! :)
