Awww! Precious.
What handsome boys, and those uniforms are just too adorable on them! :heartbeat:
Could that be any sweeter. those ties are just adorable.
I have to say I am way impressed with a school that has such small classes
and lets the kids have water at thier desks. :goodjob:
So cute!!!
adorable boys! however, aren’t the kids HOT in those sweater vests?
Oh how sweet!! What a big day for everybody!
Those were great pics! I didn’t know Dean was going to school there too. That’s awesome!
How sweet!!!!!! Thanks for sharing those pictures, Lisa…. I can’t WAIT to see your little daughter in one of those plaid dresses!!!!!
“I can’t WAIT to see your little daughter in one of those plaid dresses!!!!!”
LOL Jennie!!
Thank you everyone for your kind words!! :heartbeat:
We are very happy with the small class sizes too and the loving family atmosphere. The teachers are just wonderful , wonderful people. It is truly a great Classical and Christian school, now if we could only make our own Classical and Christian school in the Orthodox Christian praxis!! That would be a dream come true!!!!!!!!! :sunny: The children are very loved there and we are happy there, the theology is reformed (PCA) , although there are students from 40 different churches , and so far it is at a very simple level at some point our children will have to become Orthodox Christian apologists!
Rayna it is still a bit warm here, but it is cooling off and the building has A/C, good question though. :)
Adorable.
RYC: I developed a fascination for the Syrian Orthodox church last year primarily when I began taking Syriac and a Syrian Orthodox Monk friend of mine who was at Seminary with me answered some of my questions and helped me out. I think I would find it hard to be in a church, though, that did not allow women into all areas of ordination. I do appreciate your attempt to procelytize, though.
Oops … spelling error … proselytize … sorry about that!
Umm.. you are welcome….but I wouldn’t exactly call it proselytizing! LOL I just read that one entry about how you are searching so I asked if you knew about the Orthodox Church and then I offered you to ask questions on http://www.orthodoxchat.com . Generally proselytizing is seen as a negative term in Orthodoxy. You won’t see an Orthodox Christian knocking on your door or passing out tracts.
That is really neat about you learning Syriac and having a Syrian Orthodox monk friend from seminary. I would love to hear more about that. :coolman:
And thank you for the compliment about the photos. :sunny:
BTW can someone tell my what ryc means? I have been trying to figure that out for awhile and it is probably something so easy to figure out but I have yet to get it! :spinning: OHHHHHHHHHH I think I JUST got it!!! Does it mean re: your comment??
Those are adorable pictures! My uniform jumpers were that same plaid in elementary school! I thought for a moment that was my old school, lol. The boys wear gray sweater vests and dark red ties however. That really does seem like a great place, I would love to still be at a classical school.
ryc–regarding your comment. :goodjob:
Lisa, your boys are so sweet and bright-eyed. I know they reflect you.
aaaaww!! All of those pics were sooo very precious! Your children’s eyes communicate the love within your family! So glad their first day went well.
ryc: Chilly nights in the low 50′s are helpful at motivating one to get chores done before winter  Plus we it’s easier to do it all this week before Eric is hardly home and I’m concentrating on schooling the boys. I teased Eric we ought to string the outdoor Christmas lights now instead of doing it when it’s below 0 and our fingers fall off! I think our neighbors would start to think we are nuts with that one though! :giggle:
What handsome boys!! :sunny:
:sunny:Too Cute! :sunny:
Your sons are so precious!
They are TOO cute!!! How exciting for them! Looking at the photos made me remember new school supplies and how much I loved the smell. I know…Im odd. :spinning:
RYC: Thanks for alerting me to the taboo of the word “prosyletizing” by orthodox. I was somewhat confused, though, when reading Kyrie EleisonEJ post sometime this week when he noted that some Orthodox were arrested when preaching outdoors on a campus. Is this merely the exception rather than the norm? Maybe I should go ask questions in the chat room instead of on here … ha! Thanks!
I think it is the excpetion.
Alana you are not weird, I remember the rush of new school supplies too!! But then again I might just be weird too! :sunny:
