  • ~Counting My Blessings!!~

Tonight we had a school function and afterwards Fr. and I had so many wonderful conversations with people! I am just feeling so good right now about how we are being received at our sons’ (Protestant) Classical and Christian school. Thank you Lord for the loving people that you have put in our path. It is wonderful to see so many people talking to Fr. and making friends with us, may we be a good witness to Orthodoxy and may the Lord continue to help me to say the right words. Thank you to the wonderful godly, gentle and loving teachers our children will be with. They truly act as Christian parents to the children they teach, loving them , guiding them and teaching them while they are away from their parents.

Also Nicholas lost his other front tooth tonight!! We were sitting in a restaurant booth and the waitress and staff were so excited for him! He looks so sweet missing his two front teeth!! I need to take a nice picture like I did for Basil two years ago! He just looks like a darling little kindergartner with those missing teeth! I was able to help him pull it, he swallowed is two bottom teeth last year! LOL He keeps saying how funny it feels! Bless his heart! I am so excited for him to go to school with Basil! He just looks up to Basil so much and he is so thrilled to be in the same league now!! Leaving poor Jonah in his wake! Jonah will go to nursery school without Nicholas this year. Praying they all have fruitful years full of all of God’s blessings! My babies are growing up!!!

  • I know!  Watching them go off to school is such a big deal.  They seem so grown up!  Jacob will be in pre-K this year, three days a week at a private christian school also.  He is SO excited.  I  can’t believe he will be in kindergarden next year.

So glad you have found such a wonderful environment for your kids to go and learn!

  • Basil looks sooo young in the picture you use for your blog.  I’m trying to think when they took that picture.  I feel like it was just yesterday but looking at that picture of him tonight – he’s grown sooo much, so my sense of time must be off.

  • Thank you Becky I am glad you found a good school for Jacob too!  :sunny:

Jenny that photo  appeared in our local paper and in national papers via the AP on Thursday March 20, 2003. The caption under the photo read. “Basil _____ 5, holds a candle during Lenten services Wednesday night-and during his first week as an altar boy- at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. As the service concluded, Basil’s  father, the Rev. Christos__________, asked members of the church to pray for peace and for America’s leaders and serviceman.”

Basil  was so proud to serve in the altar and what a blessing to have an AP photo that captured the moment! Basil will be 8 next month. I can’t believe little Niki will be 11! She was so young when you moved here!! She is growing into such a lovely young lady! Glory be to God! And soon to be, God willing, BIG sister! I just know Niki is going to be the best big sister ever!

  • They are SO sweet!!!  Im glad to hear its going so well with their school.  There is a Classical Christian school by us….actually its across the street from our Church. Some days, I am very tempted to fill out an application.

  • Aren’t any of the Orthodox Classical schools near you?  I am so grateful we have a classical school near us, even if it is not Orthodox. I am not called to homeschool.  Pray about it and God will help you know what to do.

  • The closest one is still an hour away.  I have prayed about it…and keep praying about it, just to make sure.   :wha:  :lookaround: Tim says if I just cant then he will carve time out in his schedule to do it…I wouldnt be doing it alone anyway, he would be doing as much as he can, but he is willing to take the full load if necessary.  Which I think is all I need to know…normally….on severe burn out days….thats another story.
