  • Just for Heidi! Thank you for asking for it, it is one of my favorite descriptions of the Church!!

“The Orthodox Church is evangelical, but not Protestant. It is orthodox, but not Jewish. It is catholic, but not Roman. It isn’t non-denominational – it is pre-denominational. It has believed, taught, preserved, defended and died for the Faith of the Apostles since the Day of Pentecost 2000 years ago.”

  • The problem, the overwhelming problem of Christianity, is that everyone believes that their denomination, their way of being religious is the most pure, the most acceptable to God…I have heard fundamentalist Christians, Roman Catholics, Anglo Catholics, Lutherans, etc all describe their church in the words you have chosen. Given that everyone imagines he or she belongs to the church it is little wonder that Body of Christ has been cut into thousands and thousands of pieces.

  • That is not a problem  for the Eastern  Orthodox though. The proof is in the history.  If  a person wants to discover the truth they will. Everyone must discover the truth for themselves.

  • The proof is in the history books.
