• Adam and Eve

  So, we were sitting at Supercuts today waiting our turn when Jonah, aged 8, asked me to cuddle him because he wasn’t feeling well. He climbed into my lap; I pushed his hair back and kissed his forehead. He said, “Mom, I know what I want to invent when I grow up. I want to invent a time machine.” “Really?” I said. “Where would you go if you invented a time machine?” “I would go back in time and tell Adam and Eve, “Do the right thing.”

  Jonah then went on to ask me what the world would have been like had Adam and Eve, “Done the right thing?” “Paradise, my dear, Paradise, just like in Heaven.” I replied.

  We then went on to have a rather deep conversation about God, good and evil and free will. The mind of an 8 year old is an amazing thing, never to be underestimated.
