My Thea Voula (my mom’s sister) and my cousin Sandra (one of Maria~Angelica’s Godmothers- we miss you Betsy!) are visiting us from Florida. Yesterday we went to Cave of the Winds on the American side of Niagara Falls. It was amazingly beautiful! We were totally drenched but it was such a hot day it was refreshing! Maria~Angelica was carried by her dad and she had her little hands folded the whole way through.
Cave of Winds Tour
Soak up the experience of being closer to the waters of Niagara Falls than you thought possible, on a spectacular Niagara Falls tour. Your journey begins with an elevator ride 175 feet into the Niagara Gorge. Then, clad in a souvenir rain poncho and sandals, you’ll follow a tour guide over wooden walkways to the Hurricane Deck, less than 20 feet from the torrents of Bridal Veil Falls. On the deck, you’ll experience tropical storm-like conditions, getting doused with the spray from the rushing waters.See a side of the falls few people get to experience by taking the Cave of the Winds journey after sunset, one of the most awe-inspiring Niagara Falls tours available to the public. Follow the rainbow of colors illuminating the falls right up to the Hurricane Deck for a breathtaking adventure you won’t forget.
Each spring, the Cave of the Winds tour opens to offer the Gorge Trip to the permanent deck just 75 feet from the base of the falls. Monday through Friday, you’ll see skilled workers rebuilding the decking that will allow summer visitors to reach the Hurricane Deck. This walkway is removed every November and reassembled each spring so it won’t be damaged by winter weather.
Enjoying the view while the kids ate dippin’ dots.
Nouna (Greek for Godmother) helping Maria~Angelica enjoy every last drop. We are all really enjoying hearing Maria~Angelica call Sandra “New Na” . So CUTE!
Riding the Niagara Falls Scenic Trolley – that was a very pleasant ride, for not a lot of money; the views were wonderful.
Explore Niagara Falls State Park in the comfort of the Niagara Falls Scenic Trolley. Enjoy an overview of the park in half an hour as a knowledgeable guide shares the history of the park with you along the three-mile route, or get off at each of the six stops and explore the Niagara Falls attractions. The Niagara Falls Scenic Trolley is a favorite because they allow you to see the park while you relax and enjoy the ride. Each vintage-style trolley is equipped with modern conveniences and tickets are available at various locations throughout the park, so you can zip from one Niagara Falls attraction to the next. These state-of-the-art trolleys run on environmentally friendly natural gas and figure prominently in Niagara Falls State Park’s “Green Park Project,” a program that received the 2006
