  • I am sick again and I can’t believe it! It seems like every time I go out in public I pick up something.  The last three days I have been out and about with the children etc… My white count is low so it makes sense that I am vulnerable.  I take echinacea, slow iron, vitamins , drink chamomile tea and eat a balanced diet with lots of onions, garlic and oranges. I bought some black strap molasses to help my red count , but am not sure what to do with it, how to eat it. I also have been taking airborne.

The only thing I don’t get is a regular work out but if I could ever get better here I was planning to start up at the gym again, it is only $15 a month and I think I have found an hour and a half in  the day that will actually work for our family.

Also on a funny note Maria~Angelica can only roll one way which means I am on roll patrol all night!

  • Lisa, I can relate. I dread going out because I am bound to end up with something a couple days later. I just keep eating right etc and hope someday my immune system will eventually be strengthened. The one thing I think all of us Moms could use is a good night’s sleep! Hope you feel better soon!!

  • I hear you on the roll patrol. Good news, it only lasts a little bit. Another reason to cosleep IMO.
On the blackstrap, we just used to take a teaspoon every morning.

  • That just stinks!  We went through several years of getting everything that comes around.  This year we’ve been lucky and haven’t gotten much of anything.  I racked my brains trying to figure out what the cause was because it was.  I still can’t find a reason why we had it more in previous years.  The only thing that has changed is our stress level has been way down this year.  I just went back to the gym myself after taking about a 4-month break.  It’s hard to get back in the routine.  The biggest thing that helps me is an ipod loaded with all my favorite workout songs.

  • Praying.

  • I don’t know what it is about these lingering illnesses.  Maybe it’s something viral, and when the immune system gets compromised sickness happens.  That sounds bleak.:jealous:  Maybe it’s just one of the many flus just around.  Kids pick up everything, so therefore so do we!  It is so hard to care for little ones being sick.  I’ll be saying prayers for you.:goodjob:  If you’d like I can send you a recipe for a tea that I found in some homeopathic magazine that is suppose to be great for colds.  I’ve made it a couple times before, and they both said they said it wasen’t bad, and it may have worked.  I can pass it along:wha:. I just mentioned it to Becky, and she didn’t even have to drink it, and she was healed!!!  Garlic didn’t kick it?!?  You MUST be sick!!!!  I just bought airborne.  Heard it was good.  Bought it for my pending trip to China.  Lots of people like it.

I belonged to the gym last year, went pretty regular last year.  Then I lost my pass, and thought it was a “sign” not to go anymore.  So I never replaced it.:whocares:  It was hard to get motivated.  But when I was there I loved being there.  I use to be an excerise fanatic!!  My motivation, after kids, just plummited.:jealous:  Hope you go, it’s a great thing.

Roll patrol!?!  I remember those days. And yes, short lived, but stressful nonetheless.  I’ll be praying for you.:sunny:

  • about the roll patrol!  Classic!

  • Thanks everyone and Lisa you just cracked me up:laugh: your upbeat attitude is infectious!:fun: Send me the tea recipe or maybe I will just be healed like Becky.

  • OK, you asked for it: (Becky don’t look)

    2 C water

juice from 1 lemon, and zest from half of it

    1/8t. cayenne pepper

    2 cloves chopped garlic

    1″ fresh ginger-chopped

    honey to taste

Boil, strain, and drink hot.  I’ve made it, never tried it.  Tell me what you think..

  • I can relate to your sickness! I’m sick too. My little boys both have sinus infections, and I think I’ve got whatever they had that led to the infection. Can’t take any medicine though since I’m pregnant. Stuck at work tonight in for a sick coworker. I’m trying to have a good attitude about working while I’m sick . . .  but not working out very well!

  • Be afraid Lisa, be very afraid!  Lisa H keeps threatening to bring that stuff over to me every time I get sick, but it scares me, so I think I get better just so I don’t have to resort to taking it.     She said it has worked well with several of her friends though, so who knows!  It can’t hurt I guess!

  • Roll patrol – giggle.

I’m sorry you are sick again, it seems the older I get, the harder it is for me to kick an illness once I get one.

    $15/month? That’s incredible!

  • Lisa, I do know what you mean about getting everything. Usually I don’t but when I do it’s a doozy.  It’s the kids that get stuff every time we go out.  SN child was interviewed twice at the public school on one week, she was sick by Saturday.  Then everyone shares that readily!

The only things I didn’t see you mention were zinc and colloidal silver.  I always have zinc on hand as it’s one of the first things depleted in our systems and directly affects how we can fight things.  I also have to take it with pregnancy UTI’s, or they flare up. I do hope you guys can knock all this and germ wipe everything in sight right afterwards.  I even take germ wipes to the store or wipes and hand sanitizer!  People don’t realize what their bad habits can do to our family!
