I had my first adjustment at the chiropractor today. There was a lot of crunching noises going on and I hope I am not a hurtin’ in the mornin’. I am grateful I found a chiro that takes my insurance and is close to home. What is your opinion of chiropractors and the chiropractic approach? What about taking children for adjustments? Do you go for your overall general health or just for back problems etc…? Should I be asking any questions? Educate me please.

As to your question, I do Pilates in my home with the videos. There are some really good videos out there. I REALLY enjoy it. It really helps with flexiblity and it also builds a little muscle. It’s harder than it looks too.
I also go to the chiropractor. I was in a car accident over 3 years ago and my back has been messed up ever since. The chiro really helps me to stay limber and keeps everything in place. Generally I go about once a month at this point (in the beginning you go more often). If I’m having a rough few days I will go before the month is up and it always helps. I figure this is better than being on muscle relaxers or pain relievers…
i’ve gone thru 3 chiropractors – this 3rd one is a great fit for our family. The other two were awful fits, tbh.
I’m a big believer in chiropractic care, but I do think that, like medical doctors, there’s a lot of bad ones out there, and a lot of good ones out there.
Hope this works out for you!
I’ve been going to them all of my life. Absolutely essential when you through your back out several times like I have.
My back has gone out too, several times. The first time was when Basil was 11 months old and then a couple times since then. I have ruptured disks in L4 and L5. He told me today that my right leg is shorter than my left. During this pregnancy I started to walk leaning to the right and I just feel all crooked.
So did your parents take you as a kid? I have been thinking of taking my children, especially Jonah for his allergies.
ummm my godmother likes alias, sting, lord of the rings…she’s very easy to buy for i guess and that’s why it’s so hard. i was thinking of something orthodoxy…like an icon or a cool book or something.
We go once a week for general health. I started going years ago for my SI joint that is chronically out, it’s genetic, runs in our family. Anyway, I don’t know if it does a lot of good, both my kids have gone since birth so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but it sure doesn’t hurt. You have to llook for a “care chiropractor” rather than a “crisis one”.
I’ve been before, not in the habit now. After my then 2-year old broke his leg, I had him adjusted because he looked so “off” from accomodating the splint.
Glad to hear that your insurance covers it, whohoooo!
I should add that I took him to a Pediatric Chiropracter who I knew from the Homebirth Community.
I’ve never been to a chiropractor so I don’t have an opinion.
Sounds fantastic about the bassinet!!! Yay!!! We will definitely bring the van this Sunday. :sunny: :heartbeat: :sunny:  Thank you so much!
I depend on my chiropractor…I’d be in a world of pain without him. I go once a month now…have for three years.
Lisa, it would be especially beneficial to your kids… and the baby.
Any thing that happened to her at birth could possibly have thrown her out of alignment… if she is a particularly fussy baby, you will be thrilled at the change.
Anyway, if I knew if our insurance would cover it, I would go once a week to the chiro. :sunny:
I was wondering how a baby could get out of alignment. Thanks Sarah.
