Earlier this summer, you might remember, that Fr. was in Cyprus for the Anglican-Orthodox Dialouge. Here are some pictures from Fr.’s trip.
Inside this gold cross is a piece of the True Cross, that Sts. Constantine and Helen found in Jerusalem.
Our friend Fr. George Zenonos , in front of the newly built Church of St. Arsenios. The Church is located on the grounds of the Nicossia Hospital. Fr. George is the Rector of the Church as well as being a pediatrician.
The families of our friends Fr. George Zenonos and Fr. Michael Voskou. Fr. George and Fr. Michael are brothers-in-law. Fr. Michael was Fr. C.’s best friend at the University of Athens School of Theology.
This lovely little YiaYia (grandmother) is a Theologian, she was a teacher of theology for many years. She is the mother of Fr. Michael and his sister Presvytera Chrystella (Fr. George’s presvytera)
The children of the two priests and their presvyteras. The children are all cousins.

Beautiful!
Those 2 icons are interesting. The faces are very different from what I’m used to seeing.
Beautiful pics Lisa! :sunny:
What a beautiful place.
Those pictures are fantastic! I want to go to Greece so badly! Looks like a beautiful place.
Oh – interesting – this is Cyprus? Since finishing the Mountain of Silence I want to go there too. lol Would this be the monestary in the book?
Hi Tracy no the monastery in the “Mountain of Silence” is not Kykkos. I think it is Stavrovouni Monastery , but I am not 100% sure. Stavro means cross and vonos id the Greek word for mountain. So the name means the Mountain of the Cross. Also just so you know, I wasn’t sure if you realized this but Greece and Cyprus are too different countries although Cyprus is an island country. I hope you do get to go to both someday it would be great to do an Orthodox pilgrimage to all the holy sites and monasteries in both countries. Also Cyprus is very close to the Holy Land. We took an overnight ship to the Holy Land from Cyprus. The Holy Land was the most moving experience of my life. Glory be to God for all the blessings He has bestowed upon Fr. and me.
